Aaron's
respect and adoration for working Cattledogs grew out of necessity. Faced with
leary momma cows that would not "call into the corralls" he went searching for
help and help he did find in his first cattledog "Copper." He raised Copper
from a puppy and trained her himself. She has proven her worth time and time
again. This good dog sparked his interest in raising and training his own line
of cattle dogs. 3C Cattle Dogs have been selectively bred to enhance certain
natural instincts such as smell, hunt. heard and bite. A dog doesn't always
have to bite and I certainly don't want my cattle chewed up. But their are
times when a 30 lb dog has to force his will on a 1000 lb cow and that only
comes with bite!!
We
raise cattle on lease pasture and here at
the ranch we call Cowboy Cattle Co. (3C
Ranch.) sounds a lot bigger than it really
is. We raise Corriente Roping cattle that are
used at rodeos and ropings across the state. We also raise our own line of
cattledog that we've developed over the past few years. These dogs are similar
to the hangin tree cowdogs but are usually a lot leggier. They go on site but
will hunt cattle up. Strong to the heads of cattle, but will fetch cattle like
a border collie. They are short or slick haired and males will weigh up to 55
lbs, loyal and tough, but are of good disposition around people, friendly and
loveable.
